have Senior Night
The Prairie Wrestling team hosted a league meet last Tuesday, Feb. 2, and honored their 3 seniors as it was Senior Night. Brandon Poxleitner, Tyrell Langston and Joe Schumacher were honored prior to the start of action. At 112 lbs. Alex Duman and Tayler Heitman each defeated a Potlatch wrestler with both winning by pin. At 125 lbs. Kade Perrin won twice by pin over a Kamiah and a Grangeville wrestler. At 135 lbs. Damian McWilliams also won twice by pins over Kamiah and Potlatch wrestlers. At 140 lbs. Brandon Poxleitner won twice by pin over Boyd of Kamiah and Cody Davis of C.V. At 145 lbs. Josh Wimer lost by pin to Anthony Small of Kamiah and won by pin over a C.V. wrestler. At 152 lbs. Nick Creutzberg lost by pin to a Grangeville wrestler then won by pin over a C.V. wrestler. At 160 lbs. Langston won 6-4 over a Grangeville wrestler then injured his ankle in the second period against a Potlatch wrestler and lost by default. Also at 160 lbs. Garrett Schmidt won a pair of marathon matches. He won 9-5 over a Grangeville wrestler then won 9-6 over an Orofino wrestler. At heavyweight Mitch Jungert and Joe Schumacher took their turns pinning Cummins of Potlatch. For Schumacher it was a turnaround from a week ago when he lost by pin to Cummins. The team had a league meet at Potlatch last Thursday, Feb. 4 (no info available) and closed out their regular season with a league meet at Orofino Tuesday, Feb. 9. The District Meet will be Saturday, Feb. 20 at Kamiah. As you can see in the photos the Pirates broke out new uniforms for this match.
 Junior High wrestlers compete at Potlatch The Prairie Jr High Wrestlers participated in the Potlatch Tournament on Saturday, February 6th along with Potlatch, Grangeville, Kamiah, Orofino, Moscow, Pullman and Clarkston. The two wrestlers-Dally Ratcliff returned home with a 1st medal and Hunter McWilliams a 2nd place medal. In the first round of the round robin tournament, Dally won in overtime against Heath Miller of Potlatch, 7 – 5, and Hunter pinned Jasper Wenple, Moscow in the 1st period. Dally went on to pin Marcus Towerton, Grangeville in the 3rd period, win by decision over Ryan Kaufman, Moscow 12 – 1 and pinned Rob Clark, Pullman in the 3rd period. Hunter decisioned Zach Wilkins, Kamiah 7-0, pinned Dillon Matson in the 1st period, and lost in the championship match to Josh Walker, Orofino by pin.
