Summit splits District games, ends season
SUMMIT ELIMINATES HIGHLAND
Summit Academy outscored Highland 20-7 in the first quarter and cruised to a 53-38 win at Craigmont Wednesday, Feb. 24 in a District Tournament elimination game.
The Patriots outscored Highland by just 2 points in the other 3 quarters as they cruised to the win.
They led 33-18 at the half and 42-26 after 3 quarters.
David Johnson led the scoring with 16 points and added 11 rebounds. Dylan Prigge was right behind with 15 points and also had 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals.
Josh Schlader nearly had a double-double as he had 8 points and 10 rebounds.
Austin Chmelik added 8 points while Josh Frei scored 4 and Derek Nuxoll scored 2.

NEZPERCE ENDS SUMMIT’S SEASON
Summit led 11-7 with 1:23 left in the first quarter but Nezperce then started forcing turnovers with their press which led to a 46-76 loss for the Patriots in the district championship game at Nezperce Friday, Feb. 26.Dylan Prigge has the ball knocked away from him by Nezperce’s Chris Riggers in the District title game. Josh Frei scored 5 of Summit’s first 11 points in the first quarter as they took that lead but the Indians scored the final 8 points of the quarter to take an 11-15 lead and went on a 32-7 tear the rest of the half as they took an 18-39 lead by halftime. 
They forced 17 first half turnovers from the Patriots and turned most of them into points.
Nezperce led by as many as 30 points in the third quarter at 24-54 but Summit scored the final 9 points of the quarter , 4 by Frei and a 3-pointer by Austin Chmelik, to cut the deficit to 33-54.
Nezperce opened the fourth quarter though with a 2-12 run to destroy any comeback hopes for the Patriots.
Nezperce did a good job of shutting down Dylan Prigge who had just 1 point at halftime but wound up with 8 on the game.
Chmelik led the scoring for the Patriots with 13 points while Frei scored 11. Josh Schlader added 6 with Derek Nuxoll scoring 4 and David Johnson 2.
Meanwhile Damon Leitch scored 28 for the Indians with Sawyer Wuhl adding 17 and Isaac Fuchs 10, many for both of them by way of offensive rebounds.
Nezperce dominated on the boards 33-51. Prigge had 8 to lead the Patriots with Schlader and Johnson grabbing 7 each.
Prigge had 4 steals and 4 assists while Johnson added 3 assists.
Summit was 16 for 49 from the field, 33%, and 11 for 20 at the line, 55%. Nezperce was 30 for 71 from the field, 42%, and 12 for 19 at the line, 63%.
With the loss Summit ends their season with a 10-14 record.
