Trautman is employee of the month
Lucena ‘Lucy’ Trautman, CNA, was nominated as the St. Mary’s Hospital Employee of the Month by a number of her co-workers.  The final selection was made by the SMHC Customer Service team at their last meeting.  Some of the words used to describe her include compassionate, wonderful, great attitude, sweet, helpful, happy and never sits down.Lucy Trautman is the St. Mary’s Hospital employee of the month for March.
Trautman was hired in August, 2007 as a Certified Nursing Assistant on the night shift working from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.  Her responsibilities include providing personal care to inpatients and, as Trautman says, “…working hand in hand with all our nurses in any situation.”
She attended the Solano School of Nursing Assistants in Vallejo, California graduating in 2000.  Prior to joining the SMHC staff she worked as an accelerated family day care assistant and as a dietary aide.  Before receiving her certification as a nursing assistant she said, “I tried to pursue schooling, but circumstances didn’t allow me, so I said to myself that I can serve God’s people in different ways in the best way I can.”
Trautman was born in the Philippines where she learned to speak English. She moved to the United States in 1993.  Later she married Jerry Trautman from Greencreek.  “I was blessed with two children; my son, Mar, who is 25 years old and resides in Davis, California and my daughter, Rosie, a 7th grader at Prairie Middle School.
When not working she enjoys cooking, gardening, singing, movies and being with family and friends.
“I really like the environment at St. Mary’s and all of the coworkers I work with.  I especially like working the night shift,” said Trautman.  “I am a bit embarrassed about this honor.  It makes me blush, but I really appreciate it.”
