Blood drive set for May 4
The American Red Cross invites to celebrate two very special holidays -- Mother’s Day and Memorial Day – by giving a gift from the heart and donating blood during the month of May. When you donate blood you give the ultimate gift—the gift of life.  Cottonwood will hold their next Blood Drive May 4th from noon to 6:00pm.
Mother's Day is a time of commemoration and celebration for Mom; it is a time of breakfast in bed, family gatherings, and crayon-scribbled I Love You notes. Memorial Day was initiated to honor our fallen service persons.  It is also a day to remember and honor all your deceased loved ones. One holiday honors the person who gave us life; one remembers those who have gone before us. The Red Cross invites you to celebrate these two special holidays and help make a difference by becoming a blood or platelet donor during the month of May. Your one donation can help save up to three lives—what better way to honor these two special holidays.
Blood products are routinely transfused to those with cancer and other diseases, premature babies, organ transplant recipients, and accident and trauma victims. Volunteer blood donors are the primary source of blood used for transfusions, and the blood must be there before it is needed in order to save lives.
Any healthy person age 17 or older and weighing at least 110 pounds may be eligible to donate blood. Valid identification is required for all blood donations.
All eligible donors are asked to schedule an appointment to donate blood by calling either Brenda Kaschmitter at 962-3251 or Cheri Holthaus at 962-2327.
