Winchester Rodeo set for July 3-4
The world famous Winchester Open Rodeo will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 3rd and 4th at the Arena in the Pines, Winchester, Idaho.  Winchester Day’s celebration will be held Saturday July 3rd.
This year’s featured event for the rodeo will be Sr. Bull Riding with $1000 added money, along with all the other main events and children’s events.  Mutton Bustin and Goat Tail Tie and Untie will be both days of the rodeo with children eligible to enter both days.  Silver belt buckles and added money will be awarded in all events, including children’s events.
The Winchester Rodeo is an open rodeo, which means that amateurs can compete against professionals.  There are no restrictions on who can enter the rodeo; it is open to the world.
A great addition to this year’s rodeo will be a documentary to be filmed by a German movie company.  The movie, Rodeoboxer, is a true story about a German bricklayer named Steffen, who travels to America to make money to support his family by boxing during rodeos. The boxing match will be filmed at 12 noon on Sunday, July 4. If you want to be a part of this movie, come early, have a great burger, and be in the bleachers by noon. All aspects of our rodeo will be a part of the movie including the crowd.
The Winchester Open Rodeo is a great place to take the kids and grandkids, where they can be involved in a real rodeo.
If you would like to be a sponsor, be involved with the rodeo or be a contestant, contact Janell Willson, Reubens, 208-924-6247.
