Rehder speaks at national webinar conference
Idaho County Commissioner Jim Rehder was the guest presenter at a Rural Health Works (RHW) grant conference held by the National Association of Counties (NACO).  The webinar conference was conducted with a nation-wide county group, interested in applying for a RHW grant.
In March 2009, Idaho County received a RHW grant which brought together Syringa General Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital and 50 county leaders that helped develop (1) a directory of health services within the county; (2) a report of local economic impact of the health care industry; (3) a compilation of county demographic data; and (4) a phone survey which determined where residents go for health care for different procedures. The results of the RHW grant are located on the Idaho County website—www.idahocounty.org under Health and Human Service tab.
Commissioner Rehder was joined in the conference by Joe Cladouhos, Syringa General Hospital Administrator, and Darla Whitley, SGH Grant Writer and coordinator of the 2009 Idaho County RHW grant.  According to NACO conference organizers, the information provided by Rehder, Whitely and Cladouhos regarding the success of the Idaho County RHW grant will benefit counties throughout the United States.
