TSA students compete at Nationals
Five students from the Prairie High Technology Student Association attended the National TSA Convention in Baltimore, Shown are the Prairie TSA students at the National TSA Convention. From left are adviser Jerry Richards, D.J. Walker, Silas Whitley, Matt Jungert, Garrett Workman and Tyler Workman.Maryland June 26 through July 2nd. Tyler Workman entered in the Promotional Graphics event, Matt Jungert and Garrett Workman entered in the Flight Endurance event and Garrett, Silas Whitley and DJ Walker entered in the Manufacturing Prototype event. The students didn’t place in the top ten, but learned a lot from the competition.
On Sunday the students, Mr. Richardson, and Rick and Laurie Workman rode the train to Washington, D. C. to look at the museums and monuments at the National Mall.  Tuesday evening the students attended a Student Leadership Academy to show them ways to become good leaders. Wednesday the students and chaperones went to the Orioles baseball game along with approximately 2200 other students that attended the Leadership Academy. At the game, about ¼ of the students gathered and spelled out the letters TSA in an area of vacant bleachers. That was pretty exciting for the students. We also toured Fort McHenry, the National Aquarium, and other sites along the Inner Harbor at Baltimore.
There were approximately 4400 students from the US and Germany. Thanks to all who purchased raffle tickets to offset expenses.
