Youth activities for September
Dear Youth, Hasn't it been a great summer? We have so much to be thankful for as we move from one season to another! God is always good. We have a lot of wonderful things planned for Sept. and would like to invite you to join us as we move forward to write yet another chapter in Christian story. To begin the month, on Sept 1st at 7:00 p.m. the High School peer ministers will meet at the "On Mighty Ground" (OMG) room to discuss and plan for upcoming REACH session for the Jr. High youth. All Peer Ministers are asked to be present. If you are interested in being a Peer Minister please call Debbie. As part of our praise and worship element of Youth Ministry we will be doing a donut and devotion hour on the first Friday of every month. We will start on Sept 3rd from 10:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. Each youth will signed up for a 15 minute to 30 minute block of time. Donuts and conversation will be available in my office during the hour. Call Debbie to sign up. You may be pleasantly surprised just how special this time with Jesus truly is for you. On Sept 11th the youth will begin their annual 30 Hour Fast at 9:00 am at the Ferdinand Hall. The proceeds from this Fast will go toward Catholic Relief Services and World Vision. Each participant is expected to collect at least $30.00 prior to attending this event. On Sat. Sept 12th the High School youth will be hosting the 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's Church. Following the Mass the Tijuana Mission Team will be presenting a slideshow about our 2010 June Mission trip to Mexico. We will also have a Mexican food as part of our celebration and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. We look forward to sharing our amazing adventure with all of you. On Sept 15th the "Theology of the Body" Small group will meet at the OMG room at 6:00 p.m. for pizza. We will play softball from 6:30-7:30 and meet from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The focus of our meeting will be to discuss topic choices for our upcoming sessions. All High School youth are invited to join us as we begin our small group monthly sessions. I will be attending the Fall Conference from Sept 17th-19th at Boise. Please pray for all participants as we gather together to learn, grow and worship as one body of Christ. On Sept 22nd all High School youth, adults and youngsters are invited to a "Sixties Sing and Dance Along" at the OMG room at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is asked and encouraged to dress 60's style for the occasion. Food and drink will be provided. Come and join us as we be-bop the night away 60's style! It's going to be fun! As you can see our journey together will involve fun, food, prayer, and time together as we rejoice in the goodness of God. We definitely look forward to your presence in this month's activities and know that we can't wait to see you. Sophomore through Junior year, you will be taking a 2 year course which will begin in Oct. Signup sheets for these classes will be at the entrances of all churches beginning on Sept. 11 .
