Gutzman is top showman
Jade Gutzman, an FFA club member from Kooskia was the big winner in this year’s 4-H Livestock Awards at the Idaho County Fair.Jade Gutzman of Kooskia had the grand champion market steer. She was also grand champion showman for market beef and round robin grand champion showman.
She was the Round Robin Grand Champion Showman, the Beef Grand Champion Showman, the Quality beef Grand Champion, Top Overall Beef Project Award winner, and Idaho Salers Association Award winner for top Saler Beef Project.
Jessie Costa was the Round Robin Reserve Champion and was also the Grand Champion Showman for Dairy Heifers.
In the Quality Awards Tate Stowers was the reserve champion for beef.
Wyatt Thanstrom was grand champion for Breeding Beef with Taylor Wemhoff as reserve.
Lizz Forsmann was grand champion for Dairy Beef with Kylie Tidwell as reserve.
Katrina Frei was grand champion for Market Lambs with Kally Arnzen as reserve.
Sarah Ross was grand champion for Breeding Ewe with Hannah Ross as reserve.
Tessa Godfrey was grand champion for market swine with Madison Pecarovich as reserve.
Hunter Connolley was grand champion for rabbits with Davi Murphey as reserve.
Brooke Eades was grand champion for dairy goats with Hunter Angeny as reserve.
Chrysann Lusich was grand champion for market goats with Hunter Angeny as reserve.
Katrina Wolfrum was grand champion for poultry with John Lusich as reserve.
Chevelle Shepherd was grand champion for turkeys (a new category this year) with Johnny Shepherd as reserve.
In Fitting & Showing Taylor Canaday was reserve champion for beef while Kelsey Tidwell was reserve champion for dairy heifers.
Katrina Frei of Grangeville had the grand champion market lamb.Sheyenne Stewart was grand champion for sheep with Victoria Davis as reserve.
Kristin Kaschmitter was grand champion for market swine with Grace Vopat as reserve.
Tori Hazelbaker was grand champion for horses with Kristen Hazelbaker as reserve.
Tristan MacAdams was grand champion for rabbits with Spencer Connolley as reserve.
Lauren Alfrey was grand champion for poultry with Spencer Connolley as reserve.
Chevelle Shepherd was grand champion for turkeys with Johnny Shepherd as reserve.
Hunter Angeny was grand champion for both market goats and dairy goats. Chrysann Lusich was reserve champion for market goats and Brooke Eades was reserve for dairy goats.
Kelly Turner was grand champion with Kristin Kaschmitter reserve champion for dog showmanship.
Danielle Cochran was grand champion for dog obedience with Karly Ahrens as reserve.
Hunter Angeny was grand champion for cat showmanship.
In the Livestock Judging Contest Taylor Wemhoff was the top beef judge with Hannah Munson the top swine judge and Ashlee Stubbers the top sheep judge. Members of the Tahoe Hillbillies 4-H Club swept the placings with Tim Costa first, Chrysann Lusich 2nd, Luke Ward 3rd, Sarah Davis 4th and Jessie Costa 5th.
In the Rate of Gain Contest Jacob Rowland had the top gaining Beef Steer at 4.13 lbs./day. Jessica Kaschmitter had the top gaining market lamb at 1.19 lbs./day and Isaiah Shears had the top gaining market swine at 2.60 lbs./day.
Top Livestock Record Book Awards went to Catherine Rockwell as Top Junior; Adrianna Nuxoll as Top Intermediate and Samantha Spencer as Top Senior.
Top Horse Record Book Award went to Lizz Forsmann.Tessa Godfrey of Grangeville had the grand champion market hog.
Bailey Cullin received the top Senior Agricultural Demonstration award while Spencer Connolley received the Intermediate and JayCee Marek the Junior award.
Fenn Livestock 4-H Club was awarded the 4-H Herdsmanship Award as the club demonstrating top sportsmanship, courtesy, stall and pen cleanliness and decorations.
The Greencreek Active Workers received the award for Top Community Service Project Poster.
Top Know Your Government Project, awarded by the Family of George Enneking, went to Adrianne Nuxoll. Clay Schumacher, grandson of George Enneking, presented the award.
Victoria Davis was the winner of the Idaho County 4-H Lamb & Ewe Project. She receives three ewes from the Idaho County 4-H Program and is responsible for the breeding, feeding and management of the ewes until next year’s fair. The recipient will keep the oldest ewe and all of the lambs produced except one ewe lamb. That ewe lamb and the two youngest ewes will be passed on to next year’s winner.
Tate Stowers received the Outstanding Angus Market Project Award.
Wyatt Thanstrom received the Outstanding Angus Breeding Project Award.
Hannah Munson received the Outstanding Hereford Award.
Keuterville Livestock 4-H Club received the Largest Percentage of Beef Projects award.
Dylan Krogh received the Top Feeder Pig Project award while Dakota Wilson took second. 
Tessa Godfrey received the Top Overall Swine Project Award.
Sheyenne Stewart received the Top Overall Sheep Project Award.
Cody Schumacher received the Top Overall Agriculture Project Award.
Sam Spencer received the Dave Klapprich Memorial Award which was presented by Judy Klapprich-Uhlenkott.
Senior Mugs were awarded to 5 graduating high school seniors involved in livestock projects. They were Cody McHargue, 11 years, and Jordan Killmar, Danielle Reuter, Sam Spencer and Wyatt Williams, 10 years each.
The 2010 Distinguished Service Award went to Leigh Davis, 6 year Organizational Leader of the Tahoe Hillbillies 4-H Club.

Godfrey’s hog gets a smooch from Idaho County Sheriff Doug Giddings, who was the winner of the Kiss the Pig contest.
