Youth Ministry active in October
As the days grow shorter and the leaves begin to speak their change of color we start to see and feel a difference around us. It is in this spirit of change that we invite the youth of our parishes and communities into the dance of transformation through engaging in the opportunities in our October youth ministry process. It's only through an open response that change can come about.
On Friday, Oct 1st the High School youth are invited to our monthly hour of "devotion and donuts." Our time of prayer will take place at St. Mary's Church from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. You are asked to contact Debbie to sign up for the time you desire to pray. Donuts will be available in Debbie's office so after you are finished praying please stop by and have a donut. We can't wait to see you. We seriously invite you to embrace this amazing opportunity to slow down and spend some time with our Lord. You may really be surprised at what you hear!
Please note that we have not scheduled any youth activities during the week of Homecoming. Be safe and have a great week! Go get em' Pirates!!
On Oct 11 the youth who are taking the night Confirmation prep class will meet at the High School Prairie Faith Formation Building at 7:00 p.m. The focus of the class will be the 1st part of the Creed. If you are a freshman, sophomore, or junior and plan on being confirmed in 2012 please attend this class.
On Oct. 13th the High School Peer Ministers will meet at the OMG (On Mighty Ground) Room at 7:00 to plan for the Jr. High REACH session on Oct 20th. Please bring your ideas.
On Oct 18th the Theology of the Body small group will meet at the OMG for pizza at 6:00, softball at 6:30(weather permitting) and 7:30 we will begin our session on the subject of marriage. The topic will be; "How do you know when you are ready to be married?" All High School youth are invited and encouraged to attend this engaging topic.
On Oct 20 the Jr. High youth and High School are invited to the OMG room at 7:00 p.m. for our REACH session hosted by the Peer Ministers. Please invite your friends to a night where faith is given the opportunity to illustrate words like fun, fellowship and of course food! We hope to see you there!
On Oct 23rd (weather permitting) we will be meeting at 9:30 a.m. to begin our wonderful adventure of "Roadside Clean-up". Jr. High, High School, and adult volunteers are greatly needed for this activity. The good news is following the clean up we will have pizza, so if you feel called to work and then be fed, please join us in this very worthwhile effort.
On Oct 26th through 29th I will be attending a lay ecclesial ministry retreat at Nazareth in Boise. Please pray for all the diocesan leaders as we gather during this blessed week.
On Oct 27th the youth are in the process of planning a bonfire and hot dog roast. The time and location have not yet been confirmed. Please watch the bulletin and paper for more info. All High School and Jr. High youth and even the adults are invited this night of Christian fun!! The more we come together as church, the more we become church! So please join us.
As you can see the invitation to transformation requires a "yes" from you. It is through this yes that we like the different seasons bring forth newness and an opportunity for growth, so why not see what lies waiting to be discovered and transformed in you? Thank you and happy Fall!
In Christ's service, Debbie Chicane Tri-Parish Youth Minister
