Pirates do very well at dual meet in Orofino
The Prairie wrestling team competed at a dual meet in Orofino last Tuesday, January 18.
In 9 regular matches and 5 exhibition matches (between wrestlers actually in different weight classes) the Pirates suffered just 1 loss.
At 103 lbs. Tyler Ross pinned Marcus Towerton of Grangeville in a regular match and then won a pair of exhibition matches. He won 14-1 over Anthony Lott of Kamiah and pinned Walker Reggear of Orofino.
At 112 lbs. Alex Duman pinned Reggear in a regular match and then pinned Dylan Wilcox and Anthony Lott, both of Kamiah, in exhibition matches.
At 119 lbs. Tayler Heitman pinned Zac Broncheau of Orofino in exhibition match then pinned Silas Connolly of Grangeville and Wilcox of Kamiah in regular matches.
At 130 lbs. Kade Perrin won 3 regular matches. He won 5-1 over Ryan Simler of Kamiah and pinned Tanner Schwartz of Orofino and Ray Craig of Grangeville.
At 135 lbs. Damian McWilliams lost by pin to Rafe Williams of Clearwater Valley.
At Heavyweight Mitch Jungert defeat Kenneth Paul 3-0.

Jr. High wrestlers earn 1 first, 2 seconds at Grangeville
The 3-person Prairie Junior High Wrestling team competed at Grangeville Saturday, Jan. 22 tying Grangeville for 4th place in team points.
Hunter McWilliams took 1st place in his weight class while Kellie Heitman and Dally Ratcliff each took 2nd place.
Heitman lost by pin to Austin Parks of Grangeville and won by pin over Seth Hyer of Pomeroy, Robert Huen of Kamiah and Tyler Schwartz of Orofino to take 2nd.
McWilliams won 8-0 over Tyler Ringen of Kamiah and won by pin over Shydn Wassmuth of Grangeville, Terry McDonald of Grangeville and Trea Dominguez of Clearwater Valley to take first place.
Ratcliff won by pin over J.J. Kilgore of Pomeroy, won by technical fall 16-0 over Isaac James of Clearwater Valley, pinned Havin Heytvelt of Pomeroy and lost by pin to Zach Wilkins of Kamiah to take 2nd place.
