County 4-Hers to attend KYG conference
More than 160 Idaho 4-H members will hear from the state’s top leaders during the 24th annual Know Your Government Conference (KYG) in Boise February 19-21 during the Presidents Day Holiday. The Idaho County 4-H Program will send 7 delegates to the conference this year.
First Year Delegates: Mika Charley, Daughter of Chance & Mary Charley, Kooskia; Jennifer Forsmann, Daughter of Mark & Barbara Forsmann, Grangeville; Holli Uhlorn, Daughter of Darrell & Mary Uhlorn, Cottonwood
Second year delegates: Brandi Gehring, Daughter of Brian & Becci Gehring, Cottonwood; Taylor Hazelbaker, Daughter of Rick & Lisa Hazelbaker, Grangeville; Adrianne Nuxoll, Daughter of Bruce and Marci Nuxoll, Kooskia
Third year delegates: Sarah Baune, Daughter of Mark & Tracy Baune, Grangeville
The 4-H members learned how government works in the executive, legislative and judicial branches, receiving hands-on experiences.  Delegates attended legislative workshops, held mock committee meetings, debated bills before the Legislature and watched legislators at work.  Delegates also toured the Idaho Supreme Court and participated in mock trials.
Third year delegate Sarah Baune was selected to attend KYG for a third year as a member of the Planning Committee.  Each year 10 delegates are selected from across the state to plan the next year’s conference activities.  Sarah has been busy this past year attending meetings and conference calls planning a fun conference for 2011 with other Planning Committee members.
