Handgun firearms class offered
The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office will be offering a one day basic handgun firearms class for citizens on June 25th, 2011, from 8:00 to 5:00 in Kamiah. This class will be instructed by Idaho POST certified instructors Corporal Mike Chlebowski, and Undersheriff Jim Gorges. There is no tuition for this class however there will be a $2.00 fee to help cover material costs.
To apply for this class, pick up an application at the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office in Grangeville, Kooskia City Hall, or Riggins City Hall. Applicants must be 18 years of age to attend. Class size is limited and the class will be filled as applications are received and approved.  Completed applications must be turned in by May 30th.  An informational letter will be sent out to the accepted students prior to the class date.  
Students will need to provide their own weapon with holster, ear and eye protection, and 250 rounds of ammunition. Some of the topics covered in this class will be; Safety, Marksmanship, Malfunction drills, Pistol manipulation, and Mental conditioning.
