21 on PHS volleyball team
21 girls survived cutdowns to make up the 2011 Prairie High School volleyball team, 10 on varsity and 11 on JV.
New varsity coach Cheyenne Hudson, who coached at Highland the past 3 years, has 5 returning seniors and 1 returning junior on the team. Seniors are Megan Sigler, MeShel Rad, Monica Lustig, Sam Poxleitner and Demetria Riener. Tanna Schlader is the returning junior. Stephanie Gimmeson, Tyler Workman and Cheryl Gehring are juniors that played JV last year along with sophomore Leah Holthaus. Rad is still recovering from a knee injury suffered last Spring and hopes to be available by the end of September.
There are 11 girls on the JV team which is coached by Marlene Forsmann. They are juniors Kelsey Tidwell, Rachel Falzon and Summit transfer Cassidy Stubbers; sophomores Keely Schmidt and Beka Bruner and freshmen Natasha Gimmeson, Kellie Heitman, Jessie Riener, Holli Uhlorn, Sydney Glimp and Kirsten Latimer.
The team played their first league contest this past Tuesday when they hosted Genesee and Summit in a tri-match.

Bowlerettes start Sept. 12
The Bowlerettes Monday night women's bowling league will start the new season on Monday, September 12th.  We bowl at Camas Lanes in Grangeville.  We are looking for new members for the leagues or maybe you would just like to be a "sub".  We would love to have more teams.  If you have any questions or want more information please call Lynette Miller at 962-5421, Betty Campbell at 962-3306, or Laura Lockett at 962-7042.
