Final fall rodeo held
October 16th was the final fall high school rodeo for  District III and was held in Cambridge.  Rain from the previous night had standing water in the arena and this provided additional entertainment for both competitors and spectators.  The three Pirates from Prairie showed true grit and determination while proving that they weren’t afraid of a little rain.  With extremely competitive times Callie Mader turned in a 5th and 9th in barrels and 3rd and 4th in goat tying while MaKayla Schaeffer was 7th in poles and 7th in goats on Sunday and 2nd and 1st in break a way roping both days.  Kelsie Tidwell was 10th in barrels and 8th in poles on Saturday.  The spring rodeos will begin in April and the points earned through the entire season will be accumulated to identify qualifiers for State competition.  Prairie High School has had many rodeo athlete’s compete at the State level and this year’s team looks to do that again.
