flag project complete
The retractable American Flag project is now complete!!! The donated hours of installation by City Electric, and advice from Jake Forsmann and Dave Remacle, now have placed the horizontal flag in the JR/SR Prairie High School gym just above the score table on the stage. The retractable flag presentation will be at the girls first home basketball game on November 15, 2011. On this date, the raffle tickets that had been purchased will be drawn on NOVEMBER 15 not NOVEMBER 11, 2011, sales for the tickets will be made up to the half time of the varsity game. Just to clarify some concern about the retractable flag, there is still a stationary flag mounted on the west wall of the gym that will remain at all times, the retractable will only be let down during the Star Spangled Banner, and then rolled back up. The flag purchase was made solely by donations and fundraising, NO financing was made through the Prairie School District. Watch the paper next week for more information about the presentation ceremony and a list of those who DONATED to this project.
