City elections are Tuesday
There are elections set for next Tuesday, Nov. 8, for the cities of Cottonwood and Ferdinand.
Despite the fact that there are no contested elections and there are enough candidates to fill all the positions, cities still are required to hold elections.
In Cottonwood 80% of the city council is up for election including the mayor.
Denis Duman is running for re-election and is the only candidate for mayor.
Shelli Schumacher and Jack Duman are running for re-election to 4 year terms on the council. They are the only candidates for the two positions.
Pat Holthaus is running to fill the remaining 2 years of the position he was appointed to and is the only candidate.
Similarly in Ferdinand Gabriel Riener is running for re-election as mayor and is the only candidate.
Judy Forsman and Maria (Mitzi) Imhoff are running for re-election to their council seats and are the only candidates.
Anyone running as a write-in had to file to do so an no one had by the deadline.
Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cottonwood Community Hall and Assumption Parish Hall in Ferdinand.
