Summit Academyís 3-game winning streak came to a sudden end Monday, Nov. 21, as the CV girls, second in the state last year in 1A Division 1, broke open a tight game in the second half to pull away from the Patriots 55-28.
Score by quarters: 12-8, 22-19, 42-22 and the final of 55-28, C.V. listed first each time.
The third quarter proved to be a disaster for the Patriots as they could connect on only 1 of 14 shots taken while at the same time making only 1 of 6 foul shots. Add that to 12 turnovers committed at inopportune times and that doomed the Patriots to their first loss of the season.
