Tri-Parish Youth Ministry activities for December
“Oh come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.”  It is that time again of year again where lights are strung, songs are sung, treats are made, family is gathered, and community is celebrated.  We rejoice together because of the hope we are given through the gift of a small child, Jesus.  It is here, in the spirit of this gift that we invite you to join us in our December youth activities as move out in prayer, Liturgy, community, worship, socials, food and fun! 
To begin our month we will meet @ St. Mary’s Church @ 10:00 p.m. on Dec 2nd for Adoration.  This is a great way to begin the Advent season.  It is in preparing our hearts that Christmas takes on real meaning, past the busyness to the greatness!  
On Dec. 3rd Debbie will be meeting in Lewiston with the North Central deanery youth ministers to plan for upcoming events.  
On Dec. 5th the Jr. High and High School youth are invited to the OMG @ 7:00 p.m. to address Christmas cards for the students who are currently attending college.  These cards will be symbols of loving care and connection as these young adults prepare for their finals.  
All adults who need to take the “Safe Environment Class” will meet at the OMG at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 6th.  The cost of the class is $20.00.  
On Dec. 7th the 2012 Tijuana mission team will meet @ the OMG @ 7:00 p.m. to plan our annual alumni game.  Please be present. Your help is greatly needed!  
On Sunday Dec. 11th the Confirmation class will be meeting @ St. Mary’s Church @ 7:00 p.m.  Please bring your folders, journals, and assignments.  The focus of our class will be, “The Sacraments of Initiation.”
On Dec. 12th we will meet for RCIT @ Debbie’s office @ 6:30 p.m.  
On Dec. 14th we will meet @ the OMG @ 7:00 p.m. to watch the movie, “The Nativity Story”. Everyone is asked to bring his or her favorite snack.  Hot chocolate will be provided.  
On Dec. 17th the Confirmation youth will be meeting to decorate the float for the Light Parade.  Please note, other High School and Jr. High youth are invited to help as well.  We will meet @ 10:30 a.m.  The location is not yet determined, but will be announced later so please watch the bulletin.  
The monthly youth Mass is on Dec.18th at St. Anthony’s Church @ 10:00 a.m.  This Mass is hosted by the High School youth.  A reception will follow the Mass.  Everyone is invited to celebrate this special liturgy with our youth.  On Sunday @ 3:30 p.m. all youth who are riding on the float are asked to meet at Debbie office to get dressed in their costumes.  Please be prompt.  
    On Dec. 19th the youth are asked to meet at St. Mary’s Church alcove to take the decorations off the float.  All help is greatly appreciated.  This is a great Confirmation service project!  
On Dec. 21st all youth are invited are invited to the OMG @ 6:00 p.m.  We will gather to prepare for caroling.  At 7:30 we will return to the OMG to have a White Elephant gift exchange, a chili feed, and games.  (Please bring your favorite game)  Adults are invited and encouraged to attend this spirit filled night of fun and fellowship!
    Dec. 25th brings with it a wish of a very Merry Christmas as your family gathers and Christ becomes present through the gift of each person.  
On Dec. 26th we will meet in Debbie’s office @ 6:30 for our RCIT class.  
After Christmas, on Dec. 27th its time to work off the treats and dust off the tennis shoes as the 2012 Tijuana Mission team hosts the annual alumni game.  All adult alumni from St. Gertrude’s Academy, Prairie High School, and Summit Academy are invited to participate. Women’s game begins @ 6:30 p.m. and men’s game follows. Cost for participant registration is $10.00. Registration and spectator cost will be taken @ the door.  There will also be concessions, a three-point contest, and free throw contests.  All proceeds go toward our 2011 mission trip.
