Handgun firearms class offered
The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office will be offering a one day basic handgun firearms class for citizens on April 27th 2012, from 8:00 to 5:00 at the new Search and Rescue building located at 155 Airport Rd across from the waste water treatment plant. This class will be instructed by Idaho POST certified instructors, Undersheriff Jim Gorges and Corporal Mike Chlebowski. There is a $2.00 fee to help cover material costs. 
To apply for this class, pick up an application at the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office in Grangeville, the city hall in Kooskia, or the city hall in Riggins. Students will need to provide their own weapon with holster, ear and eye protection, and 250 rounds of ammunition. Applicants must be 18 years of age to attend. Class size is limited and the class will be filled as applications are received and approved.  Completed applications must be turned in by April 18th.  An information letter will be sent out to students prior to the class date. 
Some of the topics covered in this class will be; Safety, Marksmanship, Malfunction drills, Pistol manipulation, and Mental conditioning.
