of 2012 top scholars named
The Prairie High School Class of 2012 has four valedictorians and one salutatorian. This year’s valedictorians are Mckenzie Candalot, Samantha Keating, MaKayla Schaeffer and Megan Sigler. They have all maintained a 4.0 gpa for their high school careers.
Mckenzie is the daughter of John and Pollyanna Candalot. She plans to attend The College of Idaho in Caldwell and major in secondary education. Mckenzie has been involved in band and drama.
Samantha Keating is the daughter of Suzie Keating. She is planning on attending Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington and major in Accounting. Samantha has been involved In Knowledge Bowl, Band, Basketball, the drug free group, Prairie League, and various volunteer activities.
MaKayla Schaeffer is the daughter of Scott and Michelle Schaeffer. She is going to attend the University of Idaho and major in secondary education. She has played volleyball, basketball, and has been on the track and rodeo team and school government.
Megan Sigler is the daughter of Ron Sigler and Amy Sigler. She is planning on attending Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon and major in public health. She has played volleyball, basketball, softball, and has been involved in Go Green Group, the drug free group, band and various volunteer activities.
Salutatorian for the Class of 2011 is Troy Lorentz with a gpa of 3.96. He is the son of Rusty and Laurie Lorentz. Troy is planning on attending Lewis Clark State College. Troy has been involved in Technology Student Association (TSA), football, basketball, baseball and track.
