Band earns honors at music festival
The Prairie Junior and Senior High School Concert Bands captured first place honors at the Silverwood Park Festival of Music Northwest on Saturday, May 19th.
The bands competed in the IA division against seven other schools.  There were a total of 23 Concerts Bands participating in both the IA and AA divisions.
The combined Prairie Concert Bands performed “Rough Rider’s March” by Karl King,  and “Adventures on the Snake River”, an original composition composed by Colin O’Brien.
40 Prairie High School and Junior High School students participated in this event and enjoyed a day at the Silverwood Amusement Park.  Some of our students were even brave enough to ride the “After Shock” roller coaster!  A special thank you to Mr. and Mrs Jungert for driving the band instruments to the performance location and performing duties as chaperones.  Also, thank you to Mrs. Bowles for joining us as the bus chaperone.
Congratulations Cottonwood Music Department, our community recognizes your superior performance and efforts during this entire school year!”
