Library News
Wow!  What a great day the Yard Sale turned out to be.  All the hard work preparing was worth it.  Thanks to the many volunteers, it was a success.  The work crew from NICI spent all day Friday setting up the tables, taking the books upstairs and then arranging them in various categories to make a great looking display.  When that was completed, Carol from city hall had them wash outside windows and stairs of the community building.  They then worked in the library helping with various jobs including more window washing.  They were back on Saturday after the sale to load the remaining books up and take them to recycling.  Our only pay back is food.  We enjoy feeding the guys when they are here and they do a good job of consuming anything we prepare.  Breaks are also a treat for them.  It is so rewarding to see them enjoy what we take for granted on a daily basis.  Great job guys, we couldn't have done it without you.  We were delightfully surprised last winter when we received a beautiful Denham quilt with artistic scenery painted on it that was made by a group and donated to the library for our annual fund raiser in the fall.  Another area that has been a great help has been the repair of some very well used books that could not be replaced. These are restored to nearly new condition when we receive them back.  Thanks Emmett and crew.   All of us at the Library are very appreciative of the continued support and cooperation we have receive from the staff and crew at NICI and look forward to working with you in the future.
Food for thought:
Correction does much, but encouragement does more. Encouragement after censure is as the sun after a shower. Goethe.
