Summit team holds carwash
During the fair this past week on Friday, the Summit Academy volleyball team went to work washing vehicles, predominately pick-ups at the Cottonwood fire station.
Due to the generous support of the community and the fire department, the girls were able to raise a substantial part of the funds needed to purchase the school’s first ever in-floor volleyball net system. Since the team’s formation, they have practiced on a cement floor, with a net tied to poles which are cemented into tires and tied to the walls.  Being able to practice on an official net system drove the girls to persevere through the heat of the day, with a steady stream of vehicles for 7 hours.
Coaches Danielle Spencer and Emily Rehder, working alongside of the girls, spoke of how proud they were of the team’s hard work ethic and dedication to the school. The coaches and team wish to thank the fire department, Chief Greg Sonnen and Rod Behler for all of their help, as well as all those who brought in their rigs.  The support is very much appreciated.
