Troop Scoop
On October 15, Troop 638 had their weekly meeting. Awards were given out for a past meeting that a couple boys weren’t present for.
Seth Chaffee received his Citizenship in the World and World Conservation Award. His last thing to accomplish before his Eagle Board of Review is his project.
Please continue to encourage these young men as they are learning and growing.
During the meeting they planned to go to the Corn Maze and have a troop campout. Other activities coming up are the Food Drive which starts November 3. The boys will be dropping off food bags at your door on that date and the following week they will be collecting the bags. If you know you are not going to be around and still want to donate to the local food bank, please contact a scouting family and they would be happy to collect food early.
Also on the Nov. 12 the Scouts will be at Prairie Elementary at 1:30 p.m. to be a part of the Veterans’ Day Program. That evening at dusk the Scouts will be retiring some U.S. Flags at the City Park. The community is welcome to join us in this time of honoring our U.S. Flag. If anyone has a flag they would like to retire, please give it to a Scout family or bring it with you to the ceremony. Also, if you know when, where and any history of that flag, please share the information.
