Farm Bureau to hold speech contest
The annual Speech Contest is underway for students attending an Idaho school (public, private, or home-schooled) during the 2012-2013 school year. The contest is open to Grades 9-10-11-12. Participants need not be Farm Bureau members. The theme this year is "Opening Doors to Idaho Agriculture."
The speech must be not less than five minutes or more than eight minutes in length. Notes are permissible but not the reading of scripts. Contestants will furnish a copy of their speeches. Visual aids (posters, video clips, or objects of any kind) are not permissible.
The contest for Idaho County contestants will be in January, date to be set later. The first place winner will compete with other winners in District V. The first place winner in each district will compete in Boise on February 4, 2013.
County winners: First place - $150, second - $75 and third place - $50.
District winners: First place - $100, second - $75, and third place - $50.
State final winners: First place - 150, second - $100 and $50 to all other contestants.
