Lady Pirates win twice
The Prairie Lady Pirates picked up a couple of wins in their last two games prior to Christmas break. 
They won a league game Tuesday, Dec. 18 at C.V. 43-35 after rallying from a 12-point halftime deficit. Then on Thursday, Dec. 20, they routed Highland 58-20 in a non-league matchup at Craigmont.
Vs. C.V.
Prairie was down 5-8 after one quarter and 8-20 at the half at C.V. with little going right offensively.
In the second half they stepped up the defensive intensity and Kendall Schumacher carried the offense as they rallied to within 1 point by the end of the third quarter, 25-26.
They outscored the Rams 18-9 in the fourth quarter to win going away.
Schumacher wound up with 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to complete a double-double.
Kayla Schumacher was also in double figures with 11 points while Tanna Schlader scored 7, Brooke Schumacher 5 and Keely Schmidt 2.
Schlader had 11 rebounds to edge out Kendall Schumacher for the team lead in that category and added 5 steals.
Callie Mader had 5 assists.
Prairie also won a 2-quarter JV game by a score of 19-5.

Vs. Highland
Against Highland Prairie held the Huskies to just 3 points in the second half to turn a 12-point halftime lead into a blowout.
Prairie led 19-11 after the first quarter and 29-17 at the half.
Prairie shut out the Huskies 9-0 in the third quarter and then pulled away in the fourth by outscoring Highland 19-3.
Prairie spread the scoring around as Schlader and Kayla Schumacher led the team with just 8 points each. Keely Schmidt, Brooke Schumacher and Sky Wilson scored 7 each while Mader scored 6, Taylor Heitman and Shelby VonBargen 4 each and Kendall Schumacher 2 points.
With the wins Prairie improves to 11-2 on the season and 5-2 in league play.
The JV team also routed Highland but no score was available.
