Open House Public Meeting about the Dworshak Reservoir Nutrient Restoration Pilot Project
Please come and join us at an open house public meeting to talk with Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) and U.S. Corps of Engineers (Corps) staff about the nutrient restoration pilot project that has occurred in Dworshak Reservoir. The meeting will be held at the Best Western Riverside Lodge in Orofino from 6 PM to 9 PM, March 27, 2013.  The meeting is intended to provide opportunity for the public to learn and ask questions about the project and to provide information about upcoming project activities in 2013.
The goal of this pilot project is to evaluate whether nutrients can be added to Dworshak Reservoir in a manner that will restore the reservoir ecosystem, and in turn enhance recreation and sport fishing opportunities.  Information learned during this study will be used to determine whether nutrient restoration of Dworshak Reservoir is beneficial and should be adopted as a long term management activity.  Plans are to continue adding nutrients to the reservoir in 2013.
Snacks will be served and different booths will be set up at this meeting where you will have the opportunity to talk in small groups or one-on-one with IDFG and Corps staffabout different aspects of this project.  Feel free to come any time between 6PM and 9 PM, but give yourself enough time to visit each booth.  Each booth you visit will have posters, charts, graphs, slide shows, and/or data on different facets of the study where you will have the opportunity to discuss this information with experts on that topic.
We look forward to seeing you there.  If you have questions, feel free to contact Joe DuPont (joe.dupont@idfg.idaho.gov)or Sean Wilson (sean.wilson@idfg.idaho.gov) at (208) 799-5010.
