Letters to the editor from this week's Chronicle:

Dear Sir:
One of the many construction jobs where I was employed while working my way through college was the USAF Radar tower installation.  During the summer of 1961, what was then touted as the largest mobile crane in the Western U.S. was brought in to lift the base for the huge rotating radar screen onto the top of the largest of the 3 towers (the one completed earlier in 1961).  I am looking for a color photo of the tower after the huge radar screen had been installed (but before the subsequent installation of the bubble over the network).
If any of your subscribers and/or readers has such a photo, I would appreciate hearing from him or her.  Thank you in advance. Email wjwincps_16@msn.com.
