VFW Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Vince Poxleitner
Rick Johnson, Idaho Department of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Junior Vice Commander, presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Vince Poxleitner at the VFW District II meeting held in Cottonwood on October 5.
In addition to Johnson, Vince's award was heralded by Les Pixley of Viola, the District II commander, two VFW Past State Commanders, seven other District II post commanders, the VFW District II Ladies Auxiliary President, and several Auxiliary post presidents. Joe Riener, the Cottonwood post commander read Vince's award to the audience and said, "It is the greatest honor for a post commander to have a distinguished member like Vince, who is very deserving of this high accolade."
The award ceremony was attended by Vince's wife Alma, and his children: Delores & Ron Fitzsimmons, Joanne Wood, Beverly Wood, Lauretta Poxleitner, Kathy & Tim Roulo, Ed & Jackie Poxleitner, and one granddaughter, Erica Wood.
Veronica Johnson, Fran Johnson, and the spouses of the Cottonwood VFW post provided a wonderful meal with an assortment of homemade pies for dessert!
