loses 3 matches
The Summit Lady Patriots lost 3 matches this past week including 2 league matches. On Tuesday, Oct. 8 they lost to Logos 26-24, 15-25, 26-28, 26-24, 15-11 in a tough, hard fought league match at Craigmont that had a chance to go either way every game except the second one. Summit won both games in the JV match. On Thursday, Oct. 10 they got swept in a non-league match at Grangeville by scores of 12-25, 17-25, 21-25. In the JV match Summit won both games 25-22, 25-15. On Friday, Oct. 11 they lost another hard-fought league match at Craigmont to Nezperce 25-18, 19-25, 17-25, 25-14, 14-16. The match was a makeup for one postponed earlier in the season. Nezperce is in first place in league while Summit appears headed for fifth place but you wouldn’t know it by this match as the Patriots definitely had a chance to win it. In the JV match Summit swept the Indians 25-15, 25-12. With the losses Summit is now 3-8 in league play and 6-16 overall. Summit at District Summit’s volleyball team will be going into the District Tournament as the #5 seed and will play #4 seeded Deary in a first round match Saturday, Sept. 19 at LCSC at 7 p.m. With a win they would then face #1 seed Nezperce at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21. With a loss they would play a loser out game on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 4:30 p.m. against the loser of Monday’s second match. The bracket is full double-elimination excepting the #6 vs. #7 play-in game. The first place winner advances to state while the second place team will play Saturday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. at St. Maries in a play-in match against a District 1 team. State is at Lewiston High School Nov. 1-2.
