KC's hold hoop shoot
The annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Hoop Shoot was held on January 25. There were 138 boys and girls from Prairie School District and Summit Academy who participated from ages 9 to 14.
The winners of the Cottonwood Council 1389 Knights of Columbus moved on as district winners and shoot another round of 25 shots for state competition. Each district winner received a championship certificate and medallion.
The 9 year old champions were Delanie Lockett for the girls, and Zachary Rambo for the boys. Mackenzie Key was the 10 year old girls winner while Rodney Maguire was the 10 year old boys winner. In the 11 year old bracket Madison Shears was the girls winner and Damian Forsmann was the boys winner. For 12 year olds Madison Pecarovich was the girls winner and Dylan Krogh was the boys winner. The 13 year old girls winner was Ellea Poxleitner while Spencer Schumacher was the boys winner. Finally Bridget Beckman was the 14 year old girls winner while Tyler Krogh was the boys winner.
This year many good shooters have the possible opportunity to accomplish a state title and go on to international competition with their scores.
The Cottonwood Knights of Columbus would like to thank Prairie Elementary, Prairie High School and Summit Academy for allowing us to make this event possible.
