Girls Basketball awards given

Prairie Girls Basketball awards were given out last Tuesday, March 4. Plaque winners are shown for both the JV and varsity teams. From left are Kylie Tidwell, JV Pirate Award; Kyndahl Ulmer, varsity co-captain and co-most valuable; Nicole Wemhoff, varsity co-captain and Pirate award; Sky Wilson, varsity co-captain; Kayla Schumacher, varsity co-most valuable; Hailey Danly, varsity hustle award; Shayla VonBargen, JV most valuable; Tasha Gimmeson, JV most inspirational; Krystin Uhlenkott, varsity Defensive award; Keely Schmidt, varsity co-captain and most inspirational; Sarah Seubert, JV co-most improved; Chaye Uptmor, JV hustle award; and Selena Davila, JV co-most improved.

District 2 All-Star games
The District 2 all-star basketball games were held Wednesday, March 12 at Lewiston High School’s Booth Hall.
The girls game started at 6 p.m. with the boys team following.
Making the girls south team roster from Prairie are Kyndahl Ulmer, Nicole Wemhoff and Leah Holthaus. Lori Mader is also one of the coaches. Summit’s Rachael Frei also made the squad.
Making the boys south team roster from Prairie are Jared Higgins and Tyler Hankerson while Michael Waters and Matthew Schwartz made the roster from Summit Academy. Summit’s Ron Frei is one of the coaches for the south boys team.

Jungert granddaughter on winning team
Kelsey Yenney, daughter of Shelley (Jungert) Yenney and granddaughter of Guy and Mary Kay Jungert, is a member of the Columbia Basin College Hawks women’s team that won the NWAACC championship Tuesday, March 4 at Kennewick, Wash. They will advance to the national tourney.
