Spencer wins 3 events at Lapwai meet
At the season opening track meet at Kamiah Tuesday, March 18, Peter Spencer took first in the 1600 and then at the Central Idaho Invitational at Lapwai Saturday, March 22, he won all three distance races and anchored the medley relay team to a win.
At Kamiah
Spencer took first in the 1600 in 4:57.78. He was also third in the 800 in 2:12.61 and second in the 3200 in 11:09.07.Isaiah Shears passed 2 runners in the final stretch of his 400 meter leg to give Peter Spencer the baton in 2nd place in the medley relay. At the Central Idaho Invitational in Lapwai. Spencer wound up passing Genesee’s anchor runner to give Prairie the win. It was one of 4 first place finishes for Spencer on the day.
Also taking a first at Kamiah was Lucas Arnzen in the 400 meter dash in 53.16. Arnzen also took 2nd in the 200 in 23.5 and third in the 100 in 11.59.
Isaiah Shears took 2nd in the 400 in 57.87. He was also 8th in the 100 in 12.28, 9th in the 200 in 25.66 and 13th in the shot put at 30’6”.
Summit’s Michael Waters was 3rd in the 400 in 58.72, 6th in the 200 in 25.44, tied for 12th in the 100 in 12.75 and 4th in the long jump at 17’10”.
Bryson Higgins was 6th in the long jump at 16’8½” and finished 12th in the 100 at 12.75, 12th in the 200 at 26.57 and 12th in the 400 at 1:03.3.
Matt Schwartz of Summit was 13th in the 200 in 27.84, 12th in the 400 in 1:03.3; 12th in the shot put at 30’7½” and 17th in the discus at 64’6”.
Westin Crenshaw was 6th in the discus at 99’-“, 7th in the shot at 35’4½” and 18th in the 200 in 29.81.
Drew Cochran was 5th in the 800 in 2:27.75, 4th in the 1600 in 5:38.94, 4th in the 3200 in 12:06.5 and 8th in the shot put at 35’0”.
Dakota Wilson was 6th in the shot put at 35’5” and 5th in the 800 at 2:27.15.
Brandon Higgins was 11th in the triple jump at 30’7”, 13th in the long jump at 14’10¼”, and 19th in the 200 in 30.53.
Lucas Wemhoff was 8th in the long jump at 16’3¼”, 15th in the 200 in 28.28 and 15th in the 400 in 1:03.93.
Austin Sonnen was 23rd in the 100 in 13.72.
Andrew Everson was 20th in the 200 in 31.44 and 14th in the shot put at 30’4½”.
Ryan Glimp was 17th in the 400 in 1:09.9, 12th in the triple jump at 30’2” and 16th in the discus at 64’11”.
Ricardo Dominguez was 7th in the 800 at 2:36.75, 8th in the 1600 in 5:56.97 and 6th in the 3200 in 13:11.59.
Noah Rieger was 9th in the 3200 in 14:58.57.
The boys only ran 1 relay and the 4x200 team of Wilson, Glimp, Wemhoff and Brandon Higgins was 6th in 1:52.26.
As a team the boys placed 4th with 109 pts.
Dakota Wilson in the shot put at Lapwai where he placed 2nd.The top finisher for the girls team was Krystin Uhlenkott with a 2nd in the 200 at 28.75 and 2nd in the triple jump at 31'1½”. She also took third in the long jump at 13’10½” and was 6th in the 100 at 13.93.
Heidi Holubetz took 3rd in the shot put at 29’4½” and 4th in the discus at 77’10”.
Brandi Gehring was 3rd in the high jump at 4’4”, 3rd in the 100 hurdles in 19.44 and 17th in the 100 meter dash in 14.88.
Keely Schmidt was 3rd in the 400 at 1:07.72, 15th in the 100 in 14.54 and 11th in the 200 in 30.69.
Shayla VonBargen was 4th in the high jump at 4’4”, 9th in the 200 at 30.58 and 6th in the 400 at 1:12.22.
Chaye Uptmor was 4th in the 400 in 1:08.06 and 15th in the 200 in 31.4.
Mykaela McWilliams was 4th in the 300 hurdles in 52.93, 7th in the 200 in 29.75 and 14th in the 100 in 14.41.
Beka Bruner was 4th in the 3200 at 16:17.66.
Kyndahl Ulmer was 7th in the 300 hurdles in 59.37.
Beth Dinning was 10th in the shot at 25’9¼” and 11th in the discus at 67’7”.
Sydney Glimp was 10th in the discus at 68’5” and 12th in the shot at 23’7¾”.
Bailie Gehring was 26th in the 100 in 16.59, 17th in the shot at 20’½” and 21st in the discus at 50’3”.
Emily McHugh was 16th in the discus at 53’10” and 23rd in the shot at 18’6½”.
The girls 4x200 relay team of Schmidt VonBargen, McWilliams and Uptmor was 2nd in 1:58.72.
The 4x100 team of Glimp, Dinning, McHugh and Holubetz was 6th in 1:09.75.
As a team the girls were tied for 3rd with Orofino with 93 points.
Central Idaho Invitational
At Lapwai on Saturday Spencer won all three distance events. He won the 3200 in 10:26.54, the 1600 in 4:57.46 and the 800 in 2:13.26.
Arnzen repeated his 400 meter win with a time of 52.32. He also was 2nd in the 200 in 23.63 and 3rd in the 100 in 11.73.Mykaela McWilliams led the race at this point in the 300 hurdles at Lapwai but wound up 2nd to Highland’s Miranda Hendren.
Shears was 2nd in the 400 in 56.91, 10th in the 100 in 12.30 and 10th in the shot at 32’4½”.
Wilson was 2nd in the shot at 36’8½” and 9th in the discus at 89’7”.
Cochran was 3rd in the 3200 in 11:55.6, 7th in the 1600 in 5:24.73 and 6th in the shot at 35’0”.
Crenshaw was 3rd in the discus at 99’4” and 4th in the shot at 35’6”.
Bryson Higgins was 9th in the 200 in 25.67, 20th in the 100 in 12.83 and 9th in the long jump at 16’7”.
Brandon Higgins was 9th in the triple jump at 30’4” and 18th in the long jump at 15’2½”.
Glimp was 10th in the triple jump at 28’10” and 17th in the discus at 74’9”.
Dominguez was 6th in the 3200 in 12:43.45, 10th in the 1600 in 5:57.15 and 10th in the 800 in 2:32.2.
Everson was 16th in the shot at 29’3¾” and 27th in the discus at 64’1”.
Wemhoff was 12th in the long jump at 16’0”.
The medley team of Bryson Higgins, Wemhoff, Shears and Spencer won in a time of 4:04.29.
The 4x400 team of Arnzen, Brandon Higgins, Glimp and Wemhoff was 4th in 4:11.76.
The 4x200 team of Wilson, Glimp, Wemhoff and Brandon Higgins was 8th in 1:52.60.
As a team the boys placed 2nd behind Troy with 111 points.
For the girls team Uhlenkott in the 200, Uptmor in the 400 and 2 relays brought home 1st place medals.
Uhlenkott won the 200 in 28.25. She was also 2nd in the triple jump at 30’10½” and third in the long jump at 13’4½”.
Uptmor won the 400 in 1:07.66
The 4x200 relay of Brandi Gehring, Uptmor, VonBargen and McWilliams took first in 2:02.04.
The 4x400 team of McWilliams, VonBargen, Uptmor and Uhlenkott took first in 4:29.41.
Brandi Gehring took 2nd in the high jump at 4’4”, 5th in the 100 hurdles in 20.44 and 5th in the 300 hurdles in 57.59.
McWilliams was 2nd in the 300 hurdles in 53.01 and 7th in the 100 hurdles in 21.34.
VonBargen was 4th in the high jump at 4’4”.
Dinning was 4th in the discus at 77’11” and 6th in the shot at 25’½”.
Bruner was 9th in the 3200 in 15:49.14 and 9th in the 1600 in 7:16.33.
Glimp was 10th in the shot at 22’5¼” and 11th in the discus at 58’4”.
Bailie Gehring was 17th in the 100 in 16.48, 19th in the shot at 18’6½” and 17th in the discus at 48’5”.
McHugh was 16th in the discus at 50’7” and 20th in the shot at 18’3”.
As a team the girls were third with 92½ points.
Krystin Uhlenkott makes the final takeoff on a triple jump. She placed 2nd in the event at Lapwai Saturday.
Lucas Arnzen was way out in front as he rounded the final turn of the 400 meter dash. He wound up winning easily.
