Library News
Ayla Ratcliff’s mommy, Miss Emily, was the story reader last week in Miss Polly’s absence. Miss Emily did an excellent job and kept everyone’s attention throughout story time, Thanks you Ayla, for sharing your mom with all your little friends. The only problem was when the camera refused to work and we didn’t get a picture of the event in the paper.
Things are looking better in the Library each week. The new shelves have made such a difference and allows for more book space.
The Library should be back in order before long for it is time to do the spring cleaning and be ready for the yard sale. There will be surplus items along with books available that day and the library will be open to the public.
If you are interested in renting a booth that day please contact the Donna Wassmuth.
Several new books are now available for your reading pleasure. One that should be of interest was written by local author, Marion Shinn, about the Maurice Shinn family and their life over on the Plains. There is also a nice variety of new Large Print books for those of you who prefer them. Stop in and visit, you will be pleasantly surprised.
On a personal note, while visiting Pete and Justine Arnoti in Greenwood S.C. we had the privilege of visiting a ten million dollar library. What a sight. It was a beautiful, state of the art building. It had everything.
Made of brick, two stories, lots of windows including a reading room, study rooms, computer room and everything in between. Greenwood also has the widest main street in the U.S. A beautiful area and flourishing with industry.
The boat trip through Charleston Harbor and Fort Sumter with all the Civil War history was very interesting. The historic section of town when viewed from the horse drawn carriage was spectacular. The southern hospitality, good food and wonderful company made for a great vacation.
