New Clearwater Medical Clinic to open in February
Imagine a welcoming, open space with high ceilings, abundant natural light from large windows and furnishings that look more like the inside of a country lodge than a waiting room. This peaceful, healing atmosphere paired with the most up-to-date technology available in our region is the foundation upon which the new Clearwater Valley Medical Clinic was conceived. “We are very excited about this addition to our community and truly appreciate all of the support.  We thank everyone for their patience as we recognize the need for a newer, larger clinic has existed for a long time,” said Lenne Bonner, Chief Administrative Officer, St. Mary’s and Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics.
The new clinic will be a 20,000 square foot building designed by NAC|Architecture out of Spokane, WA. NAC|Architecture has designed over 200 healthcare facilities that have ranged from medical practitioners’ offices to 60,000-200,000-square-foot medical office buildings to major hospital additions and renovations. “NAC places an emphasis on a patient-focused design and developing a quality environment that conveys a professional, contemporary medical practice. This works very nicely with our Medical Home model that focuses on serving the patient and their whole family, working as a team to give the patient more control over their healthcare and to provide a place of sanctuary, privacy and safety,” says Bonner.
NAC|Architecture has designed medical facilities in St. Maries, ID, Coeur d’Alene, ID, Bellevue, WA, Spokane, WA, Ketchikan, AL and many other locations in the Western United States.
21 serene exam rooms, areas for radiology, laboratory, physical therapy, office space for administration and providers and a large classroom that will be used for internal as well as external educational opportunities are included in the plans for the new clinic, “we will also have a walking path from the hospital to the clinic for staff and patients to enjoy,” says Bonner. Departments that will move to the new clinic include all clinic staff, some IT staff, and collections, the President, Chief Administrative Officer, and Executive Assistant.
Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics currently has 14 providers on staff, with a new addition, Dr. Sholar beginning on July 1. Following Dr. Sholar another new physician will be coming on staff in March of 2015. “We will have one ER doctor and one Urgent Care provider who are at the hospital site every day. All the other providers will be at the new location, beginning as early as February 2015,” states Bonner.
Bonner speaks about the planning process with excitement, “there was a group of us that included, administration, nursing staff, physicians and APC's that met weekly with the architect to help design the building.  We are confident the design will help provide the most efficient, high quality health care that we can.  We feel the overall landscape of the building will fit in very well in our community.”
“Our vision for the new Clearwater Valley Medical Clinic is that it will be a place of healing and well-being for you and your whole family. We’re very proud of the fact that even though we live in a small town we are still able to offer excellent medical care; and now from a facility that is large enough and equipped to do so. We again want to thank everyone in the community for their continued support,” added Bonner.
