Corrections career fair set
The Idaho Department of Correction is holding hiring events at the Idaho Department of Labor’s local offices in Orofino and Lewiston at the end of July for correctional officers to work at the prison in Orofino.
The Orofino career fair runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 30 at the Labor office, 410 Johnson Ave. The Lewiston career fair runs from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 31 at the Labor office, 1158 Idaho St.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and should bring a completed background investigation questionnaire, which is online at www.idoc.idaho.gov/content/careers/background_investigation_questionnaire. They will be guided through an expedited selection process and may walk away with a conditional offer of employment the same day.
Correctional officers receive competitive benefits at a starting rate of $13.27 an hour with an increase to $14.05 after successful completion of entrance probation.
