Library News
Fall is upon us and plans are in motion for the annual Library fund raiser.  As a "stand alone" library, we receive no funding through taxes.  We are self supporting and an all volunteer staff under the supervision of a Library Board who are also volunteers.
The Brät and Brew Fest began six years ago and has been the financial life line of the library.  It began as a "tasting" event with a huge variety of delicious entries of not only home made sausage and beer, but also salads, side dish, breads, and desserts.  The winner in each category received votes from the crowd and their entry received a cash prize.  For various reasons, the competition has dwindled and occasionally there will be only one entry in a category.  We would encourage the public to make the event more interesting by entering the contest this year.  Along with the dinner and bar, there will be a silent and live auction, entertainment throughout the evening and a dance beginning at 9 P.M.  Once again music is by the Coffey Twins and the Satins.  This will also be their sixth appearance in the community.  Table reservations may be made and tickets will be available soon.  Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 25.  See you there.

Bräts & Brew Fest set for Oct. 25
Bräts & Brew Fest plans are taking shape.  The sauerkraut is in the crock and board members are gathering items for the auctions.
As a side event this year, we are looking for anyone who would like to donate a bottle of wine.  We will accept any kind.  We will sell corks that are numbered and you will get the corresponding bottle.
We are looking for anyone who makes sausage or beer to signup and compete for the $50.00 prize in each category.  The categories are beer or cider, sausage, side dish, bread and dessert.  German dishes are preferred, but any thing is acceptable.  The date for this event is October 25th.  Last date to donate items is October 17th.  Contact the library for entry forms.
