Hospital to offer EMT classes
Becoming an EMT has many advantages, both for those who are considering making a lifelong career of being an EMT and for those that are looking at other career opportunities within the emergency medical arena. Would you like to become an EMT?
St. Mary’s Hospital will be offering EMT classes from February 2nd to the end of May.  The classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-10pm with an occasional Saturday. Cost of the course is $250.00.  The EMT course provides training to acquire the emergency skills necessary to assess a patient's condition and manage respiratory, cardiac and trauma emergencies. The minimum age to take the course is 16 and parental consent is required for anyone under the age of 18.
An open house to meet the SMH ambulance crew and the course instructors will be held on Tuesday, December 16th at 7pm in the hospital cafeteria.  This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the program and to get your questions answered.  Anyone with a strong desire to help people and learn more about emergency medicine is encouraged to attend this open house.
Contact Thomas Seubert at 983-5954 or Linda Beckman at 962-7157 if you have questions.
