The Prairie wrestling team did very well in their only home meet of the season which also served as Senior Night, Tuesday, Dec. 16 at Cottonwood. Seniors Hunter McWilliams, Kellie Heitman and Dally Ratcliff were all honored prior to the start of wrestling. Everyone on the team wrestled at least twice and some wrestled 3 times. Match results for each wrestler (we didn’t get all the names of their opponents, they are identified by team): Kellie Heitman: won by pin over a Grangeville wrestler in 49 seconds; won by pin in 5:24 after trailing 2-10 over Orofino; Nathan Gimmeson: lost 2-4 to a Lewiston wrestler; lost by pin in 0:38 to Lewiston; lost by pin in 0:31 to Lewiston Hunter McWilliams: won by pin in 1:59 over Dykes from Lewiston; won by pin in 0:44 over Warden of Grangeville; Dally Ratcliff: won by pin in 1:55 over Lewiston; lost by pin in 4:44 to Potlatch; Jace Perrin: lost 1-11 to Orofino; won by pin in 3:13 over Roy of C.V.; lost by pin in 1:41 to C.V. Jarrod McIlvane: won by pin in 0:56 over C.V.; lost by pin in 2:59 to L. Paul of Potlatch; Jayce Huling: won by pin in 3:11 over Lewiston; lost by pin in 1:28 to Schwartz of Orofino. The team’s next action is the Pomeroy Christmas Tournament on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
