Summit wins 2 of 3
The Summit Patriots lost a non-league game at the Lewiston JV 41-71 Tuesday, Jan. 20, and then won a pair of league games, 63-17 at Nezperce Thursday, Jan. 22 and 56-41 at Kendrick Saturday, Jan. 24.
At Lewiston JV
The Lewiston JV’s came out in a full-court press and Summit struggled to take care of the ball while Lewiston converted many of the turnovers into easy baskets as they built a 7-26 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Things settled down a bit for Summit in the second quarter as they managed to outscore Lewiston 17-14 but still trailed 24-40 at the half.
Lewiston outscored Summit by 7 points each in the third and fourth quarters.
Tyler Krogh led Summit in scoring  with 14 points while Patrick Chmelik chipped in with 9 points. Chris Osborne and Josh Lustig added 7 each while Dean Stubbers and Thomas Schwartz added 2 points each.

At Nezperce
In a league game at Nezperce Summit struggled offensively in the first quarter but blitzed the Indians in the final three quarters to pull away for the big win.
Summit led just 9-5 at the end of the first quarter but outscored Nezperce 26-5 in the second period to take a 35-10 halftime lead.
They continued to pull away in the third, outscoring Nezperce 15-4 to take a 50-14 lead into the fourth quarter and send the game into running clock mode for the final 8 minutes.
Summit again outscored Nezperce in the fourth by a 13-3 count.
Several Patriots had rebound totals matching their scoring totals led by Chmelik who had 19 points and 19 rebounds. Lustig had 10 and 10 while Osborne had 9 and 9 and Nathan Beckman 2 and 2. Krogh also hit double figures with 14 points with Dean Stubbers adding 9 points.
Summit also won a 2-quarter JV game 25-18.

At Kendrick
The Patriots completed a season sweep of Kendrick in the Kendrick gym Saturday, Jan. 24
The Patriots jumped out to a 17-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 31-15 by halftime.
The led 49-28 after 2 quarters and held on to win by 15.
The Patriots hit just 35% of their shots but a 39-25 advantage on the boards gave them a lot of second chance opportunities.
Chmelik had another double-double to lead the team as he had 13 points and 17 rebounds. Lustig also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Krogh was in double figures in scoring again with 12 points with Beckman adding 8 points, Stubbers 7, Schwartz 3, Osborne 2 and Caleb Currier 1.
Summit remains in first place in league with an 8-1 record and are 10-3 overall.
Kendrick won the JV game 20-26.
