is featured speaker at Lincoln Day Dinner
Eagle attorney Christ Troupis will be the featured speaker at this Saturday’s Lincoln Day Dinner at the Greencreek Community Hall. Sponsored by the Idaho County Republicans, the Saturday, Feb. 28, event starts with social hour at 5 p.m., and dinner and auction at 6 p.m. Presentations start at 7 p.m. with Troupis to speak on “Common Core: What’s Next?” A candidate for attorney general in the 2014 Idaho Republican Primary, Troupis has practiced law for 38 years and his passion has been the defense of constitutional rights in state and federal courts. Among his clients have been the Idaho Republican Party in its lawsuit against the State of Idaho to defend its right to close its primary election; and also representing Ralph Nader in a suit that struck down unconstitutional requirements imposed on independent presidential candidates to access the Idaho ballot. Troupis is a member of the Idaho State Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in Idaho, California, Oregon and Illinois, and in the seventh and ninth circuit U.S. District courts and courts of appeal. Among the auction items for the night include 12 yards of gravel, Smith & Wesson pistol, hand-carved stone eagle head, and a four-night stay for four at Lewis & Clark Trail Cabins in Syringa.
