Lincoln Day Dinner is held
On Saturday, February 28, Idaho County Republicans met at the Greencreek Community Center for their annual Lincoln Day Dinner.
98 attendees feasted on roast beef with all the trimmings and an array of desserts prior to listening to attorney Christ Troupis talk in some detail about “Common Core: What’s Next”. Troupis noted that while Common Core promotes itself as providing higher academic standards, it actually lowers those standards while attempting to force all children into a standardized educational box, particularly during early developmental years when children are developing at dramatically different rates.  He also noted that several states have dropped the program and several others are considering dropping it.
Attendees included State Senator Sherry Nuxoll, representatives from Idaho’s congressional delegation and the Idaho County Commissioners and Clerk.  Paul Anderberg of Kooskia acted as Master of Ceremonies.
