Pirates and Patriots at State
The Prairie Pirates and the Summit Patriots will both be competing at the Real Dairy Shootout State Basketball Tournaments this weekend in Caldwell and Nampa.
The Pirates, as the second place team from District 2 in the 1-A Div. 1 bracket will face District 3 champion Ambrose of Meridian at 8 p.m. MST Thursday, March 5 at Vallivue High School in Caldwell, the same place they played last year.
In the other game in their half of the bracket at 6:15 p.m. MSTwill be District 5-6 champion Challis and District 4 runner-up Valley.
In the other half of the bracket Genesee will play District 4 champion Oakley at 1:15 p.m. MST followed by Lapwai and District 3 runner-up Liberty Charter at 3 p.m. MST.
The Patriots didn’t get any favors in the matchups as District 2 champions as they face perennial contender and District 4 champion Carey in the first round at 8 p.m. MST at Caldwell High School. In the other game in their half of the bracket are Logos and District 5-6 champion Mackay at 6:15 p.m. MST. There is a good chance of a Summit-Logos rematch in the second round.
In the other half of the bracket are District 1 champion Lakeside and District 4 runner-up Dietrich at 1:15 p.m. MST and District 3 champion Council against District 5-6 runner-up Rockland at 3 p.m. MST.
