Vs. Troy
Monday, April 13 they played a league game against Troy at Cottonwood and held off the Trojans 13-5 in 6 innings.
Abbie Uhlenkott has to recatch this fly ball for an out against Troy as it had bounced up in the air off the heel of her glove. The game ended in the sixth despite it not being  a 10 run margin due to an agreed upon time limit so they could get some JV innings in.
Prairie jumped all over Troy in the bottom of the first despite 2 of the first three hitters making outs. Danly started things with a 1 out triple to right and scored on a wild pitch. With 2 outs Seubert walked and stole second and third. Gimmeson doubled to left center to score Seubert. Faith Uhlenkott followed with a single to left center that scored Gimmeson. Uhlorn doubled to right center to score Peery, who was running for Faith. Abbie Uhlenkott walked and Heitman beat out an infield hit. Prairie made it 10-0 in the third inning when Heitman singled up the middle, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on Tidwell’s infield groundout.
Troy finally got on the board in the fourth after two quick popouts to catcher Danly. At that point the home plate umpire called time and told Faith that she would have to remove her yellow headband. Apparently there’s a rule they have to be brown, black or team colors. That seemed to throw Uhlenkott off and she wasn’t the same pitcher the rest of the game. She gave up 3 hits, a walk and a hit batsmen the rest of the inning that led to 2 runs being scored.
Prairie answered back with 3 runs to get the lead to 11. Faith led off with a single. Uhlorn followed with a looper over the second baseman and Abbie tripled to right center to score both runners. Abbie scored on Tidwell’s grounder to short. The shortstop had a brain cramp and for some reason threw the ball to third instead of to first for the out.
Prairie hoped to end the game on the 10-run rule in the top of the fifth but Troy picked up 3 more runs on just 2 hits.  A big play was Seubert and Gimmeson both going after a popup and neither winding up with it as they ran into each other.
In the sixth a double play turned by Tidwell and Gimmeson erased a leadoff baserunner and Faith got the final out on a grounder to Ross at third.
Prairie had 14 hits in the game with Danly picking up three quarters of a cycle with a single, double and triple and an RBI. Gimmeson had a pair of doubles and 2 RBI.
