Girls 4x400 team are Regional champs
The girls 4x400 relay team was Prairie’s lone regional champion but Prairie qualified 2 relays and 5 individuals in 9 events for the state track meet at the Regional Meet in Lapwai, May 8-9.Shayla VonBargen has handed off the lead to anchor runner Mykaela McWilliams in the 4x400. McWilliams extended the lead as Prairie won the race.
In the final event of the day the 4x400 relay team of Delaney Uhlenkott, Chaye Uptmor, Shayla VonBargen and Mykaela McWilliams placed first with a time of 4:19.96.
The 4x200 team of Uhlenkott, Nicole Poxleitner, VonBargen and McWilliams was 2nd in 1:53.76 to also qualify for state.
Uptmor qualified in 3 individual events as she was 2nd in the 3200 in 13:13.45, 2nd in the 1600 in 5:58.41 and 2nd in the 800 in 2:29.77.
McWilliams qualified in both hurdles races as she was 2nd in the 100 hurdles in 16.68 and third in the 300 hurdles in 49.99.
Uhlenkott qualified in the 400 by placing third with a time of 1:02.83.
For the boys Lucas Arnzen qualified in the sprints as he was 2nd in the 100 in 11.87, 3rd in the 200 in 23.55 and 2nd in the 400 in 52.09.
Ryan Glimp also qualified for state by taking 2nd in the discus with a personal best mark of 119’8”. Glimp was also 22nd in the shot put at 31’11”.
Other girls events saw the 4x100 team placed 5th in 58.77. 
The medley relay placed 6th in 2:16.34.
Beth Dinning was 9th in the shot put at 28’3”.
Sydney Glimp was 8th in the discus at 89’4”.
Bailie Gehring was 18th in the discus at 70’11” and 21st in the shot at 21’11”.
For the boys team Mason Dalgliesh just missed qualifying for state in the 200 with a 6th place finish as the top 5 placers advance to state. His time was 24.66. He was also 8th in the 100 in 12.52 and 11th in the 400 in 57.34.
Anthony Karel was 13th in the 800 in 2:25.77.
Dally Ratcliff was 9th in the 110 hurdles in 20.33, 10th in the 300 hurdles in 50.15 and 16th in the triple jump at 30’11½”.
Sean Spencer was 14th in the 1600 in 5:30.84 and 15th in the long jump at 15’10”.
Andrew Everson was 8th in the shot put at 36’8” and 14th in the discus at 96’7”
Lucas Wemhoff was tied with Spencer for 15th in the long jump at 15’10”.
The 4x100 relay team of Raice Dalgliesh, Glimp, Spencer and Wemhoff was 6th in 51.88.
The 4x200 team of Raice Dalgliesh, Karel, Spencer and Wemhoff was 6th in 1:44.92.
The medley team of Raice Dalgliesh, Glimp, Karel and Ratcliff was 7th in 4:16.36.
Finally the 4x400 team of Raice Dalgliesh, Mason Dalgliesh, Wemhoff and Arnzen was 4th in 3:55.63.
As a team the boys were 5th with 47 points and the girls were 3rd with 70 points.


State Meet at Middleton
The State Track Meet will be held this Friday and Saturday, May 15-16 at Middleton High School.
Prairie only has one competitor in the field events with Ryan Glimp competing in the first flight of the discus at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Chaye Uptmor will actually be the first competitor in action for Prairie as the girls 3200 starts at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
Running prelims start at 3:30 p.m. Friday with Mykaela McWilliams in the 2nd heat of the 100 hurdles.
Lucas Arnzen will be in the first heat of 100 meter dash prelims.
Delaney Uhlenkott will be in the first of 3 heats of girls 400 meter dash prelims while Arnzen will be in the second heat of boys 400 meter dash prelims.
Next up would be the 300 hurdles prelims with McWilliams in the first heat of girls prelims.
The final competitor on Friday will be Arnzen in the boys 200 prelims. He will be in the first heat.
On Saturday the Parade of Athletes will be held at 11:30 a.m.
The running finals will start at 12:30 p.m. with the girls 100 meter hurdles followed they the boys hurdles, the 4x200 relay with Prairie’s girls running in lane 7. Next are the 100 meter dash finals followed by the 800 meter run with Chaye Uptmor having the third best time coming out of Districts.
The 4x100 relay follows then the 400 meter dash finals. After a 20 minute break the 300 hurdles finals will be run followed by the 200 meter dash.
Next up is the 1600 with Uptmor having the second best time coming out of Districts
The final event is the 4x400 relay with Prairie’s girls running in lane 5 with the fastest time coming out of Districts.
Chaye Uptmor led after the first lap of the 800. She qualified for state in the 800, 1600, 3200 and 4x400.
Lucas Arnzen and Mason Dalgliesh don’t look that far apart near the end of the 100 but Arnzen wound up 2nd and Dalgliesh 8th. Arnzen also qualified for state in the 200 and 400.
Mykaela McWilliams qualified for state in both hurdles races as well as 2 relays. She is shown in the 100 hurdles.

Nicole Poxleitner has just handed off to Shayla VonBargen for the third leg of the 4x200. They placed 2nd to qualify for State.
