Cottonwood City Council meets
The Cottonwood City Council passed an ordinance at their June meeting Monday, June 8, detailing the encroachment permit process.
They had discovered when an issue came up that they didn’t really have the procedures in place that they felt were needed.
Water loss was down according to Pat Holthaus’ water report. They pumped 3.348 million gallons and sold 2.287 million. With known loss for lube the pumps that came to about a 10% loss which is the lowest in quite some time.
All testing came back clean.
Also the relocating of the water line to Seubert Excavators was nearly done. This work is what prompted the encroachment permit ordinance.
Ron Grant reported about the only thing new in the sewer department was Pat Enneking building a cover for the chlorine containment basin that help lessen the loss of chlorine.
Jack Duman reported the grinder will be here July 14 to start grinding up the current surface of East Street from Foster St. north in preparation for a CRABS resurfacing. Roy Uhlenkott reported he picked up a rock rake at the consignment sale that they feel will help do a better job of smoothing out the surface.
They are looking at starting mag chloride application later this week. Some of the streets will be kind of a mishmash because they haven’t heard back from many of the property owners on those streets about covering costs of the application.
Duman also reported they got about 15 of the concrete barricades that were being given away from Lewiston Hill which is undergoing a repaving project. They had requested 200 but you take what you can get.
Several paved streets are lined up for getting patched and sealcoated this summer.
Grant reported they had 1 residential fire call and had to return a couple days later when it flared up again. This was the first structure fire for the new fire engines.
Grant reported the fire department also participated in the disaster drill at the high school.
Airport leases were approved. Nick Seubert of Seubert Enterprises was selling off one of his parcels and requested a redrawn lease for the remaining ones and a new one for the buyer.
Two catering permits were approved for Keuterville Pub and Grub and the VFW for the VFW’s beergarden at the Idaho County Fair. Catering permits have a limit of 3 days each. The first permit was for August 19-21 and the second for August 22.
The meeting adjourned at 8:09 p.m. The next regular meeting will be Monday, July 13 at 7 p.m.
