Library News
The library topped off this years summer reading with a picnic in the park.  Pollyanna Candalot did a great job of making books fun.  Her enthusiasm was infectious and engaged all age groups.  Board member, Annette Kuther made this all possible by organizing the program this year.   Awards were presented in each age group to those reading the most books. They were, Matt Frei, Lillianne Lustig, Henry Lustig, Arialle Halligan, Amber Halligan and Amanda Halligan. Each child received recognition for their participation.
We were fortunate to have visiting local" heroes" volunteer to come and tell their stories.  To kick off the Summer Reading Program, retired veterans, Paul Goedart and Rick Johnson, along with Civil Air Patrol members Brad Poxleitner and James Rainwater, dressed in uniform and gave a wonderful story about our flag.  They also gave a demonstration on folding the flag and what each fold stood for.  I think some of the adults learned from their presentation as well.
Other local "Heroes" who shared their stories were: Teacher, Colleen Sonnen, Paramedic, Charlotte Dasenbrock, Registered Nurse, Kathy Seubert.
The last day the kids were treated to a demonstration by Officer Wes and his drug trained dog, Tazer.  They had the opportunity to pet him as well, and he seemed to enjoy that as much as they did.
Thanks to all who participated and for Annette Kuther for contacting our local heroes and to Jon Halligan for his valuable help during the program..
They would all very generous with their time and talents.
Kids, continue to keep track of the number of books you read as there will be awards given at the end of summer vacation.
The regular story hour will continue every Tuesday morning at 10:30-11:30. Come join us.  It's the coolest place in town.
