providers awarded
St. Mary’s Hospital contracts with the Professional Research Consultants (PRC) to conduct interviews about health and wellness issues. The goal is for PRC to ask a few questions about the healthcare services SMH patients have recently received from the hospital, clinics and physicians. PRC gives out annual awards to facilities and physician who score high in these interviews. Every year PRC speaks personally with more than one million households and recent hospital patients. Dr. Jack Secrest, Dr. Ron Sigler and Megan Wilson, DNP, APRN all received 5 star awards; this designation is awarded annually to physicians/providers who score in the top 10 percent (at or above the 90th percentile) of the PRC national client database for the prior calendar year. These awards are based on the percentage of patients who respond with a 9 or 10 to the Overall Provider Rating question. Dr. Marc Farnworth also received a 5 star award; Dr. Farnworth worked for SMH from 8/1/11 to 12/31/14 and is currently working at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho. PRC clients qualify for the 2015 CG-CAHPS (The Clinician and Group Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) Awards with data collected from patient visits occurring between January 2014 and December 2014. To qualify for Healthcare Provider awards, a minimum of three months of patient visits and 39 interviews must be included to qualify for a 5-Star Award. “I would like to congratulate and thank our providers and staff on receiving these awards,” commented Matt Forge, CAO for SMH. “It really speaks to their hard work and dedication in serving our patients and communities.
