October events for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth in Christ,
Let the life of Christ speak to your heart and may these words change the world! We are inviting you to join us this month as we gather to make a difference in each others lives through service, retreats, a Bible study, learning, planning, sharing, Catholic Q and A, Socials and more.  October brings with a very busy month filled with many opportunities to grow together in spirit. You are always welcome and please know we would love for you to join us as we gather for these different sessions throughout the month.
We will begin the month on Oct. 5th with an invitation to our Sophomore, Junior and Senior youth to join us for a Bible study at the OMG youth room.  We will start the night with pizza at 6:30 at the OMG youth room and Sr. Meg will be hosting our first small group Bible Study.  Please bring your friends as we begin our process of growing in faith through exploring God’s word.  On Oct. 7th our High School Peer Minister team will meet to plan our monthly Jr. High REACH session.  We will begin the night at 6:30 with a lasagna dinner at the OMG.  I can’t wait to see you.  On Oct 10th Jr. High and High School youth are invited to do our Fall roadside cleanup.  We will meet at Debbie’s office at 10:30 a.m. to go over details for the cleanup.  Adults we really need your help.  If you can help we get done so much faster.  We will go to Subway following the clean up.  On Oct 11th all Confirmation youth are invited to the Welcoming Rite at St. Mary’s. You are asked to be at the Church at 9:15 to sign in, line up and be instructed on what will take place during the Mass. We will follow the Mass with breakfast and mini retreat at the CEC building. We will be finished at 3:00 p.m.  Please make sure if you signed up for the 2nd year of Confirmation that you need to be present at this Mass.  If you have questions please contact Debbie.
On Sept. 12 at 7:00 p.m. all youth who attended the Steubenville Conference in August are invited to attend a night of reflection with Bob Rice.  We will use Bob’s videos to help us grow deeper in faith and conviction of standing strong for each other and in our faith.  Jim Chmelik will be our host for the evening.  Please know that the words, stories, testimonies and challenges that were put forth at the conference we not meant for one weekend, but a lifetime.  This meeting is to help us sustain and grow even deeper in your commitments as we stand together to fully live out our faith.  Jim and I can’t wait to see you.  You can also tell your friends and know they are invited to this great faith adventure!  On Oct. 14th at 7:00 p.m. the Haiti team will meet at the OMG room to plan the annual pancake breakfast fundraiser.  If you plan on attending the Haiti Mission in June you need to be present.  On Oct. 17th we have a group of 16 adults heading to Moscow to attend a youth ministry renewal and training day. Please pray for our group as we grow in God’s wisdom through planning, sharing, listening, and being present to God’s will in our parishes.  I am so excited to have such a great group of people willing to open the door for God’s plan to unfold within our youth ministry process. What a blessing. Thank you to all of you who said yes!
On Oct. 21st the Jr. High youth are invited to our October REACH (Relationships entering all Christian hearts) session at the OMG room.   The session will begin at 7:00 with High School Peer Ministers leading.  All peer ministers are asked to be at the OMG at 6:15.  Snacks and drinks will be provided.
On October 26th all High School youth are invited to attend our small group Catholic Q and A group.  We are meeting in Debbie’s office at 6:30 for pizza, will have our group discussion for an hour and go for a walk at 8:00 p.m.  Please tell your High School friends.  This is a great opportunity to answer those hard questions you have about your faith.  On Oct. 28th the Jr. High and High will be doing our Service for the month through Trick or Treating for canned food.  We will meet at the OMG at 5:30 and trick or treat throughout Cottonwood and Ferdinand from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  All cans collected will go to the Food Bank.  The night will be followed with a celebration of dessert and games at the OMG room.  Please mark you calendars that the youth will be collecting food on the night of Oct. 28th; they may even be dressed up!
Let your light shine and not be hid under a bushel basket.  As you look through this month of activities I hope you see that God shines through all things and you are invited to be a piece of that light through your involvement.  Please consider letting God’s light shine through you!
In Christ,
Debbie
